"The Harry"Happy 5 weeks to my baby girl. I think we have begun to hit a growth spurt... but I need to look into that further. She is an eating machine and loves going outside on walks. We are both actually hoping for a cold front because its too hot in the afternoon to take her out and its not that easy to wake up and get walking before the heat of the day. Lanier and I usually take it easy in the mornings after she feeds, we watch Hoda and Kathie Lee in bed...then we start our day after that. She has actually started to make some smiles, though not intentional, but sooo soo cute. I love when she gets the hiccups...she hates them and she has this face that she makes that we call the "harry" after my dad (just cause he makes that expression alot) She is much more alert and aware of her surroundings. Lately, when she is a fuss pot... yes, she has bad gas,I have found that taking her in the car is a life saver. I hope I don't turn into the mom that you see riding around the block just to get her to nap.
Lanier and I, along with my friend and co worker, Courtney and her son Carter went up to work this week to visit with everyone. Its crazy busy, with babies galore...so glad to be at home with mine. We weighed the kiddos and Lanier weighed 7lbs 5 oz ! Missing my buddies at work but enjoying the "down" time.
Mom and I went out shopping and to lunch this past Tuesday to the Women's Exchange where my mother in law works. She was so good and didn't make a peep. We also went to saddle creek on Thursday to look for some dresses for the weddings we have coming up this summer. Then it was off to American Cafe for some much needed lunch. Our mom and daughter days haven't changed much since Lanier. We still do the same things, just with the added trips to the back of the car to nurse !! Gotta love it.
This past weekend we went to a dear friend our ours baby shower and got to wear one of our beautiful day gowns. We cannot wait for Cara to have her little Adalyn in June. On a different note... We just found out that my grandfather has cancer... please be thinking of him as we find out more information and his prognosis. We are so lucky that we have a trip planned already to Chicago to introduce Lanier to the family and let her Great Grandfather meet his very first Great Grandchild !! What a beautiful site that will be !!!
