a NEW day...

This is a picture of something that Lanier has not done since she was a like 4 weeks old. A car ride usually consisted of our poor child screaming bloody murder... well let me tell just you that yesterday, May 29th, marked a NEW day for the Treadwell household !!!!!!
Our sweet angel has been colicy, mixed with some reflux, and has been crying all day long... well... here she is about 36 hours after finally allowing her mommy and daddy to get some formula down to her hurting belly. We had tried formula about 3 weeks ago and she would not take it, we even tried syringe feeding it to her. She would get herself so worked up that she would projectile vomit everything back up and I would give in and nurse her. However, we went in for our 2 month shots and Dr. Cat managed to get her to take an ounce and told me give her nothing but formula and see how she did on it. Easier said then done, she ended up grazing all day but actually took the formula (the most expensive kind, but who cares). So here is a picture of Lanier and I just chilling outside at a cookout. Yes, just chilling, I have never done this with my child and she sat on me for hours without crying. Absolutely a NIGHT and DAY difference in our child in a matter of 24 hours ( just like the label on the can says !!). UNBELIEVABLE !!!! Tim and I are on cloud nine...ten..eleven or so right now and I'm sure Lanier is feeling sooo much better. Its crazy that something I was giving her was hurting her belly so bad. Something having to do with not being able to digest the protein in my milk. Crazy, i know !!
Mommy and her quiet baby girl
PROUD PAPA Sorry my child, I just had to post this. Our 2 month shots, she passed out in the car on the way home and slept for 3 hours
Yep she was sooo sleepy

Look at that face, I might just eat her

Memorial Day Weekend

Happy Memorial Day Weekend !!!
Let it be known that on the 25th of May my husband hit his very first HOLE IN ONE at Germantown Country Club. A cute little impromptu family photo... AND... today is Tim and I's 2 year anniversary...funny to think we have a two month old to celebrate it with
Lanier is in a cute little bubble that my mom made her. Its is precious, a little big still but it will be prefect for Florida in July. Uncle Jon is lovin him some Lanier. It has been just this last week that her eyelashes have grown so long and are curled up on the ends. if only you could see her BLUE eyes
Ok I must either get a nice nice camera of figure out why my pictures look so good on the camera and not when I upload them... the child does have hair, its not just a shadow, and its light brown !!

My baby girl is ready for the SUMMER

Happy 8 weeks !!

Happy 8 weeks to my baby girl !!

Lanier was dressed soo cute ( too bad you cannot see her big BLUE eyes) today to go to her cousins high school graduation... we made it there ! YAY only to turn around and come right back home. Luckily St. Mary's is right down the street. I think it literally took us longer to walk from our car to the church then we were actually there. She was just exhausted and cannot put herself to sleep. She has now been out for 2 hours and 20 min.

Just another day chillin' around the house with mom

Bumbo

Its BUMBO seat day !!!

We were sitting around yesterday, arms tired and all, when I decided to break out the Bumbo seat. She LOVED it !!!
Update on our colic/reflux. Lanier has had an awesome last 2 days !! The only time she was fussy was when she was tired ( and what baby isn't). Needless to say it seems like the Prevacid is totally working. She is such a happy girl now... that doesn't mean that we are through all the tough nights/days, but it at least gives Tim and I a break every once and awhile and time for us to actually eat together !!!! We're so happy that she can be comfortable now and that her cries are no longer cries in pain but just fussiness !!! Brings much relief to our household.
Today, Lanier and I were suppose to be in Chicago, yes a 9 hour drive, to have been taken with my mom, dad, and brother. We are giving Ashleigh (my soon to be sisiter-in-law) a bridal shower. We just couldn't do it. Really bummed about not being up there for Ashleigh and missing my family (whom I haven't seen since September). Also really bummed that Lanier has to wait a couple more weeks to meet her Great Grandparents.
So Chicago is not gonna be her first trip, but come July we will be on her first plane ride to Tampa for Jon and Ashleigh's wedding !!!!!!!!!!!

My little Amoeba

Don't let this cuteness fool you... ha ha
She is such a doll with this smile, which I might add has been making its appearance a little more often theses days thanks in part to a little pill called Prevacid !! She is still quite fussy and gives us a run for our money at night... but she has gotten better.

Happy First Mother's Day to me !!! This is how we spent our day. We had to miss out on brunch at the club... just wasn't worth the hassle if we were gonna have to be worried about our little fuss pot acting up. I did manage to get my favorite breakfast !! Pancakes !!! My mom came over and hung out too !!
She is on me basically 24/7. I should enjoy it before she gets too BIG.
Baby Legs... Gotta love them !! She is so stinkin' cute in them and they work great when it is so hot outside, yet chilly inside. Yes, I know, they are a little big but she is growing like a worm and soon enough she is gonna be crawling around in those suckers

Couldn't resist the cuteness of this shot

Believe it or not, this is actually a picture of the morning after Lanier had one of her 3 hour crying spells. She usually wakes up so happy and looks around the room wondering why we are so tired and what all the fuss is about. She is such and angel and has brought many a tear and ohh so many smiles to our happy HOME !!!

WE ARE SO BLESSED !!

funny story I might add. I keep peaking at the monitor and she is on her belly for nap time. Helps sooth those colicky bellies. She has managed to do a 180. The monitor has gone from me seeing her face to now the only thing I can see is her little bottom and one foot.

Reflux...

So today we are hoping to start a new chapter in little Laniers 7 weeks here. The colic thing has been insane... all day long... have tried all the comforting techniques and its not getting any better. Which, I know they say they just have to grow out of it, however, each feeding was a struggle these past two weeks. She was almost inconsolable after her feeding/wake time. Anywho... so we were gonna try her on formula to see if that made her feel any better. Well she showed us !! She would not even take the bottle, which mind you she has had pumped milk in before. Needless to say, last night was miserable, trying to get her to take the formula and her wailing so much that she actually went hoarse and vomited everything we managed to get down her. Took her over to our wonderful Pediaticians house so she could see how she was feeding. She took about an ounce of formula and began thrashing...as she had at the bottle before. REFLUX.. she said, yep totally looks like reflux. The funny thing is she never acted uncomfortable nursing on me. So here we are today hoping that Prevacid is gonna do the trick. Keep your fingers crossed. I have no more tears left inside... somehow she does.

Joy Joy Joy... Happy 6 weeks yesterday !!

ohh those little feet !!

In response to my last post.. our days have been getting a little easier... at least she is not crying all day long !!! We still have our fussy periods but that's to be expected. I think Lanier realized that mommy really didn't want to lose her sanity yet ! ha ha ... everyone keeps asking me if the levsin drops are working and I really don't know what to tell them... since we are using them in combination with a bunch of other soothing techniques, who really knows.
Our days seem to be going by so fast. She is more alert and the last couples days (since she hasn't been a fuss pot) have been really fun watching her become more aware of her surroundings. I love just staring at her and her BEAUTIFUL blue eyes, thanks in part to her parents.
Today we actually had our first really big smile at mommy, which melted my heart !
I went to my 6 week check up today and drug mom along just in case fuss pot came out, and sure enough she did. Doesn't it say something when your having to use the white noise application on your phone to calm your baby. ohh for technology!!! Check up went fine, turns out it was retained placenta ( reasoning for D &C 3 weeks ago) WOW that just sounds gross, sorry. It's crazy, seeing as I only pushed for 15 min and my labor was a joke. Everyone says its the curse of the nurse. Something always has to go wrong for those in the medical profession. Speaking of jobs, I go back June 8th :(. My baby girl will be 10 weeks old. Thankfully, I have my mom and mother-in-law watching her.
Last but not least is our newest obstacle, the darn barking dogs! Twice today she was so happy minding her own business and was startled by them barking.

a LONG week

The Moby Wrap

So Sunday night we got a little SURPRISE from our darling sweet angel ... she cried for 3 hours straight ( OK better put SCREAMED !! We put a call into our pediatric an ( helps so much that she is a good friend of ours and I can call her directly !!!) She said Bridge , I hate to use the "C" word but since she has been getting fussier and fussier... everything your telling me sounds like colic. So we went in to make sure she was gaining weight and to get Laniers first prescription (Levsin drops). Needless to say the child is eating like a champ and weighed 7lbs 15oz. Our nights after say 10 o'clock have actually really been good, she is sleeping in about 4 hours stretches. Its just getting her to relax in the evening that takes alot. I'd say that taking her in the car works all the time... however, it isn't full proof, sometimes soothing her with the dryer works, Iwent out and got a happy tummie wrap, she is really into the rain sound on her new homedics lullaby sound machine its awesome and has a projection with animals on the ceiling for when she gets bigger. The sounds include a heartbeat, ocean, rain, twinkle twinkle, rock a bye baby, I've been told its like crack for babies ha ha. I have also been putting her in my moby wrap... as you can see above and that seems to work as long as I am moving around.
I keep telling myself, things could be alot worse. I just take it a day at a time. I have a healthy baby and couldn't ask for more !!! I have wonderful family and friends that have offered to come sit with her if I just need to get out. She does have good days and bad days so we wake up each morning hoping for some fun.
This too shall pass !!!
We keep waiting for her to outgrow her newborn stuff so we can quit repeating all her outfits !!! she has so many dresses we need to start fitting into !!

Everyone keeps saying she looks like Tim

Ohh !! my sweet baby girl
